John Greene of Cincinnati: Basic Types of Professional Accounting

Professional accountants, as Cincinnati native Josh Greene knows, are always in demand, and are often essential, even indispensable components of countless organizations throughout the world. With this ever-present demand for those with accounting education and experience, it becomes important for aspiring CPAs to know exactly what their career options are following the reception of their degree.
There are numerous types of accounting fields available to the aspiring professional. These include, but aren’t limited to:
Managerial
This type of accounting is generally centered on providing necessary information to management professionals, or those within the basic management infrastructure of an organization. Managerial accounting includes such aspects as cost analysis, financial analysis, forecasting and budgeting, and more.
Financial
Under the umbrella of Financial Accounting, professional responsibilities often include classifying and recording business transactions, the preparation and presentation of financial statements (GAAP compliance) and the overall processing of an organization’s historical financial data.
Tax
Tax Accounting helps an accountant’s clients ensure their financials are always in compliance with the current rules/laws set forth by present day tax code. This field generally involves the legal minimization of tax liability and all decisions made regarding taxes and their consequences.
Josh Greene of Cincinnati is proud to have studied the field of accounting at Xavier University.
